The Problem?
The Web Got Boring
- We tend to see the same 5 sites, day after day.
- Amazing voices stay hidden behind algorithmic fog.
- Discovery is gone. Exploration, discouraged.
- We were promised a digital frontier – and got a feed.
Let me tell you in my own words what this is all about:

Hey, I’m Donna. So, this thing I made? It’s called Webring Studio.
It’s a website that helps people connect their personal websites together in a little circle.
This is my way of bringing back a little piece of the old internet – when folks made their own websites and linked to each other just because they liked what someone was doing.
We used to call those loops a webring.
You’d visit someone’s blog, click a little button, and it’d take you to the next one in the ring, like passing around a plate at a potluck.
These days, most of the internet is run by algorithms. You’re not really browsing anymore. You’re being steered.
You don’t stumble across cool sites. You get whatever Facebook or Google decided you should see. They just feed you what gets the most clicks or makes someone the most money.
I think it’s time we said: no thanks.
This brings back the old way, but easier. You don’t need to know how to code. You just sign up, make a little ring, and link up with other folks.
It’s simple, it’s free, and it’s kind of my little protest against how bland and corporate the internet’s gotten.
If you’ve got a site, even a tiny one, and you want to be part of something human again, you can join a ring or make one of your own.
There’s no feed. No likes. No weird social scoring.
Just a small group of humans saying: “Hey, you might like this too.”
That’s the whole thing.
What If Discovery Was Human Again?
Webrings were the original social network – curated communities where real people recommended sites they actually loved. No algorithms, no ads manipulating the feed, just human curation and serendipitous discovery.
We Are The Indie Web Rebels
We’re reclaiming the quirky corners of the web – linking out to weird, human things again. Or not weird, but definitely not corporate. No algos needed. Just vibes. Quietly, together.
We’re bringing webrings back – and this time, they’re better. Webring Studio captures the nostalgia but leaves behind the hassle. All the fun, none of the broken links and setup nightmares. And all with a modern, beautiful design.
Are you one of us? Do you long to break free from the corporate algo-controlled web?
Wondering who Webring Studio is really for? It’s for:

You
Built for indie web creators, digital diarists, nostalgic netizens, zine queens, Tinyletter lifers, Neocities nerds, and anyone who still thinks of the internet as a playground – not a platform.

You
For the ones who miss hand-coded homepages, who still believe in blogrolls, and who never stopped curating their little corner of the web.
You’re not outdated. You’re part of the indie web revival.

And You
Indie web purists. Favicon perfectionists. Personal site obsessives. The ones who never stopped linking out as a love language. You already belong here. You always did.

Yes, we know what happened last time.
Webrings 1.0? Yeah it had broken links, dead ends, and abandoned rings.
We’re not repeating history – we’re rewriting it.
Webring Studio solves the biggest problems of the old webring era with automated link checks, smart navigation, and modern tools that actually work. This isn’t retro for retro’s sake. It’s built to last.
Webrings didn’t die. They just broke. We fixed the mess. → See how.
